Pre-emergent herbicide is often the unsung hero within a weed-free lawn in our opinion. At Heartland we not only understand and appreciate the benefits of pre-emergent herbicides, but we double down on them! By that, we mean that within our program we provide pre-emergent herbicide in both of our first 2 applications.
Applying a pre-emergent herbicide in late Winter / early Spring, creates a barrier within your lawn that makes it very difficult for weeds to grow in. By providing 2 applications of pre-emergent we create an extremely strong barrier that lasts through the entire spring weed germination window.
Ultimately we believe that if we can eliminate the weeds from germinating in their primary growing season (early Spring) then we can set up the lawn for success throughout the growing season. These benefits are often most noticeable in problem areas such as around sidewalks and driveways or other areas that are more prone to weeds during the heat of the summer.
